This program is specifically designed by Harvard faculty and industry experts to train laboratory professionals to implement a radiation protection program in the biotechnology, university, hospital, or medical laboratory setting. Participants will gain the full 40 hours often required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Agreement States for licensure.

Participants will learn to utilize the skills necessary to act as a radiation safety officer (RSO), including how to maintain a safe laboratory environment, understand regulatory requirements and expectations, and avoid regulatory compliance problems associated with radiation safety.

· Aspiring radiation safety officers in a university, biotechnology, or medical facility
· Laboratory staff and scientists using radionuclides
· Biotechnology scientists using radionuclide tracers
· Scientists in the radiopharmaceutical industry (production and R&D)
· Physicians and medical staff using radionuclides in the healing arts
