Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals

The Official Journal of the International Isotope Society

The Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals is devoted to high quality, original papers dealing with all aspects of research and development leading to, and resulting in labelled compound preparation. Related areas, such as analytical control, self radiolysis, quality control handling and storage are covered, whilst papers on compounds and tracer methods used in chemical, biochemical, biological, pharmaceutical, medical, genetic, agricultural and geochemical research and application also appear. All radionuclides and enriched stable nuclides are included.

The journal is dedicated to reporting new developments from a multidisciplinary base, thus ensuring it is essential reading for professionals engaged in many areas of scientific research.

An extensive array of topics are covered in Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals, including:

  • Radionuclide production
  • Cyclotron targetry.
  • Neutron irradiation methodology
  • Precursor preparation and production.
  • Synthesis (chemical, biochemical, radiation, isotope exchange, etc)
  • Automation of nuclide production, precursor, preparation and synthesis
  • Analysis (methods, limitations, etc. for both radioactive and stable nuclides, including new detection techniques)
  • Quality control (an essential requirement for valid data and especially for radiopharmaceuticals)
  • Self radiolysis, stability and storage problems
  • Special problems relating to production and handling of Curie and multiCurie amounts of radioactivity
  • Theory and practice relating to carrier problems, `isotope' dilution, and other factors concerning stable nuclide and radionuclide use.

JLCR Award for Young Scientists

Four bursaries of $1,000.00 each will be given to outstanding researchers under the age of 40 working within the field of labeled compounds and radiopharmaceuticals to attend the 17th International Symposium on Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Aachen, Germany 30 April – 4 May 2007, (http://www.ISRS2007.de). The Awards are open to researchers working in industry or academia in any part of the world, and will be judged by the 17th ISRS conference scientific committee.

The Awardees will be expected to give a Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals Award Lecture at the appropriate session of the 2007 conference.  For details of how to apply contact the conference secretariat at email: ISRS2007@fz-juelich.de
