Organic/Analytical Chemist for PET Radiochemistry
Position Description: The candidate will participate in the routine preparation of F-18 radiolabeled compounds using a state of the art remote controlled radiosynthesis system, and be responsible for the analysis and characterization of both chemical and biological samples of F-18 radiolabeled compounds to support onsite PET imaging studies. The candidate will also work closely with scientists in the Clinical Discovery Technologies Bioimaging group.
Position Requirements: MS in organic chemistry with significant exposure to analytical chemistry and a minimum of 5 years of industrial experience or a BS with a minimum of 7 to 9 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in organic chemistry, experience using radiolabeled materials and analytical techniques including radioHPLC, radioTLC, MS, and SepPak chromatography and a willingness to learn routine radiolabeling procedures.
Location-The position will be in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Job Description The Radiochemistry Group is responsible for the design of routes to, and the synthesis, purification, analysis and delivery of isotopically labeled molecules to colleagues in Drug Metabolism and Discovery. As the leader of this group comprised of synthetic and analytical chemists, the successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, flexible and motivated with excellent practical laboratory skills and a broad understanding of synthetic organic chemistry. The candidate must have proven problem solving skills and the ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams. He/she will be expected to communicate with scientists throughout the organization, prioritize synthesis projects and purification requests, and inspire the team to efficiently complete assignments to drive programs forward.
Skills and Experience In addition to demonstrated scientific excellence, this successful candidate for a Group Leader position will be expected to model Leadership Competencies, administer Performance Excellence and Growth Plans for the Radiochemistry Group, and prepare and conduct performance reviews and ratings recommendations. Other duties include ensuring laboratory conduct in accord with radioactivity safety guidelines and compliance to relevant Standard Operating Procedures.

Radiolabelled drug candidates are important tools in the discovery and development of new drugs. We are looking for a talented and motivated Radiochemist to join our small specialist team at the department of Medicinal Chemistry in Lund. Your main tasks will include synthesis of precursors and developing synthetic schemes for synthesis of radiolabelled substances. You will work closely together with radiochemistry colleagues both in Sweden and UK and in an international multi-disciplinary project team organization from early Discovery to Clinical Development. Key attributes of the successful applicant are to be structured and meticulous yet flexible and creative. Good communication skills are also valuable when talking to people from many different disciplines in the company.
The position requires a University degree in organic chemistry or equivalent experience. Preference will be given to applicants with several years of radiochemistry experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a pronounced interest in practical synthetic research.
