FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

On behalf of the U.S. Central Chapter, I am pleased to invite you to attend and present at the 20th Annual Symposium to be held in Hebron, KY on September 27 and 28.  We will have a very good scientific program, provide an opportunity to talk and dine with your colleagues and see the latest exhibits that supply our work in isotope synthesis, measurement and application.

Location  We have chosen the Cincinnati Marriott Airport as the host hotel for the 20th Symposium.  It is conveniently located at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Kentucky, just across the river from Downtown Cincinnati.  Driving and airport directions are at their website: ( http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/cvgam-cincinnati-airport-marriott/ ).   A conference rate of $145 per night has been negotiated for our meeting.  You may reserve a room simply by checking the appropriate box on the registration form.  (Please use this form rather than calling the hotel directly.)  While there are some nearby hotels, I encourage you to stay at the Airport Marriott as each room booked helps defray the meeting costs to the Society and provides maximum convenience for your participation in the symposium. 

Program  We will begin our scientific program at on Thursday, September 27, preceded by registration from .   From 7 until we will have the exhibition and social time with a well-stocked buffet and bar.  On Friday, we will begin with a full breakfast at followed by our first session at .  After a break for lunch and Chapter business, our last session will end around .  Our program will include some local isotope scientists, as well as our own members.  A preliminary program will be posted on the Society website when available. 

Call for papers  We can accommodate many posters and have availability for oral presentations also.   Please submit a one half to one page abstract by July 13 if you would like to present either a poster or an oral presentation.   In the event that we cannot accommodate all submitted oral presentations, we may ask for a poster presentation instead.

Exhibition   We encourage all our suppliers and vendors to exhibit.   We can accommodate a significant number of displays and will a feature a permanent setup in the break room, and will conduct the buffet and social hour in close proximity to the displays.   Our exhibition fees include registration for as many as three people from each exhibitor. 

Registration  You may register for the 20th Symposium, reserve a hotel room, and pay by check using the enclosed form.  Please complete the form and return by mail.  Our fees will be $130 for members, $150 for non-members, $750 for exhibitors and an extra $30 for late registration.  Student registration is $25.  For those attending as a group, you are welcome to collect all the attendees from a company and pay with a single check.  All events are included.
