19th IIS-UK Group Symposium
Thursday October 14th 2010

The Wellcome Trust Genome Campus
Hinxton, Cambridge, UK

Dear Colleagues

I have great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the Nineteenth Annual Symposium of the International Isotope Society – UK Group.  The meeting is entitled ‘Synthesis and Applications of Labelled Compounds’ and should be of interest to isotope users, principally in the life sciences.

Amongst the topics to be covered are: labelling of biomolecules, synthesis with carbon-14, new catalysts for tritium exchange, new synthetic chemistry relevant to isotopic labelling, and new methods for fluorine-18 labelling.

Once again, we are returning to the favoured venue at The Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Hinxton, near Cambridge on Thursday 14th October 2010.  The Genome Campus has easy access from the M11 and the meeting is timed to allow most UK based people to travel to and from the symposium on the same day.  Stansted airport is around 30 minutes away by car or taxi.  However a list of accommodation addresses in the locality will be included in each applicant’s joining instructions should anyone need to arrange overnight accommodation.

As in past years, there is an opportunity to present posters at the meeting.  Please contact Professor Bill Lockley (w.lockley@surrey.ac.uk) if you would like to do so.

I do hope you will be able to attend this year and help make this meeting of the IIS-UK Group as successful as our previous ones.  Please pass this information on to any of your colleagues who would be interested.

I look forward to seeing you in October.

Best regards

Ken Lawrie, Chair, IIS (UK Group)
